Dan Donoghue

Staff PictureGreetings from The Chocolate Caper!  We hope this season finds you all happy and healthy! This year has been filled with many blessings for us. Our team welcomed a new employee, Kailee, and she has settled in nicely. For those of you who may not be familiar with who “we” are – We are (from right to left in the picture): Dan & Elizabeth Donoghue, owners, and our beloved staff – Amanda, Lee, Windi, Kailee, and Khayman (our eldest son).

Some things around the shop have changed, as you may have noticed! At the beginning of the year we put in a new floor and new shelving/display wall and this summer we replaced the awning out front with a bright beautiful new one that now sports our logo! We have added a few new treats to our line up, but never fear – our praliné recipe remains the same!!

A few things some of you may might not be aware of – we are now open year round – no more summer closures! We are also very happy to be shipping year round (with a few regional exceptions during extreme heat) and also now offer an insulated Chocolate Caper branded reusable tote that comes with a frozen reusable ice pack for sale, when you’re carrying out during the warm months and don’t want to risk the chocolate melting on your way home! As we expand our gifting selections, we are pleased to announce that we are offering a variety of fine wine and liquors, excellent pairings to our chocolates and a wonderful addition to gifts for all manner of special occasions.

Our staff was one of the first in Oregon to complete Dementia Friendly certification and we are very committed to serving every individual who walks through our doors with dignity, respect and love. We strive to provide an inclusive and comfortable environment for all people, however abled. We are also happy to schedule tours of our facility to any interested groups and have gone out into the community to give various demonstrations and will continue to do so as requested.

Last but not least, we are so honored and grateful that our loving and loyal customer base has continued to grow with us. We feel very strongly that we have the best customers to be found and delight in the privilege of getting to know so many of you and having such wonderful experiences in serving you and our community. We are very blessed to be able to give back by supporting the Oregon Area Food Pantry, Neighbors in Need of Assistance (NINA), OSD athletics, the Police Department and Village, Relay for Life, local fundraisers and more, and we encourage everyone else to do the same as they are able.

Thank you for your continued support and patronage! We look forward to seeing your smiling faces and wish you and yours a wonderful holiday season!
