Return and Shipping Policy

Because of regulatory limitations and the perishable nature of the items sold by The Chocolate Caper & QuirkE’s Custom Bakery, LLC, we are unable to accept returns. All sales are final.

Purchased items will leave our facility in excellent condition, but the Chocolate Caper will not be held responsible for shipping delays caused by weather, incorrect addresses, or other conditions beyond the control of The Chocolate Caper. In addition, it may be necessary to take precautions when shipping purchased items. We require items be shipped with enhanced cooling protection to certain warmer-weather climates depending on the time of year the order is placed.   We require this enhanced protection to decrease the likelihood that your order melts or is otherwise damaged by temperature while in transit. If enhanced cooling protection is required, The Chocolate Caper will include the $5.00 cost of the enhanced cooling protection in the total cost of your order. This cost will be reflected on the check-out page.

In addition, the checkout page allows you to select enhanced cooling protection for any order: if you are shipping to (or through) a location where you know the temperature is above 72 degrees, we strongly urge you to select enhanced cooling protection. The Chocolate Caper cannot be held responsible for chocolate that melts or is otherwise damaged by heat during shipping.

All orders are shipped via USPS Priority Mail in order to ensure the vast majority of orders arrive within 2 days, with a small number of orders to certain locations arriving in 3 days. If you would like your items shipped via an alternative method (such as UPS or overnight shipping), or if you have concerns about the shipping of your order, please contact us at (608) 835-9294 or service@chocolatecaper.com prior to placing your order and we will be happy to address any concerns you may have.

If your item is a gift, please include a gift note on the check-out page for us to include with the package. In addition, orders that are marked as or appear to be gifts will be shipped with no packing slip/invoice unless you request otherwise in the order notes.

Product pictures are representative examples only, and the actual product delivered may vary from the picture shown. Most items sold by the Chocolate Caper are hand-crafted and no two items sold by the Chocolate Caper are identical.  For example, we carry a wide variety of truffles; if your purchase includes truffles, the specific truffles included may vary from those shown in product pictures. You are welcome to request specific flavors in the order notes, and we will make every effort to fulfill your request. However, we reserve the right to make substitutions at our discretion. In addition, since the majority of our products are hand-crafted in small batches, there may be small variations between batches and individual pieces of candy.

Your satisfaction is our highest priority. If the items you receive from the Chocolate Caper do not meet your expectations, we will work with you to replace the items.
